Your board's URL: tommyvon.net/forum
Version of phpBB3: gold
Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? upgrade from 2.x to rc 7. now gold
Was this an install through your host? no
MODs you have installed: none
When the problem started: upgrade from 2.x

Additionally, you may wish to provide the following (where applicable)
Template(s) used:
n/a
Language(s) used: english
Version of PHP used: not sure
Database and version used: MySQL 5.0.45-community-log

None of my users, including myself can stay logged in. Only a "style_cookie" shows up in my browser.
I've tried numerous things from various threads on this board. added the "." before my domain name, adding the "www" before, removed the "www". Cleared cookies, both manually and via the board. Also consulted an admin on the #phpbb channel, he was puzzled as well. Tried removing all themes, using differnet themes, etc.. All no luck.. Nothing has work and im completely stuck!
In a perfect world i could convert my database back to 2.x but i know that is not possible.
thanks.

tvon,

Having the same problem I suppose that this refers to the chosen method of authorization
I have it Db thus the phpBB3 only knows that I am logged in as long as I have the same sid in teh address line - checked that more then a couple of times...

Well, suppose the help is on the way!

Can you access the database to browse the phpbb_config database table and see what the cookie settings are for the cookie path, name and domain :)

Thanks to Highway_of_life, we found out GODADDY.com is to blame here..
<Highway_of_Life> you are running on PHP 4.3.11 which is EXTREMELY outdated, its also on a CGI setup instead of Apache, both of those combined has me convinced it is unable to send the set-cookie headers.
<Highway_of_Life> I don't know why it would cause a problem in either that version of PHP or running as CGI instead of Apache
so far thats the only answer i've heard that makes sense.. This might be something the next version might want to address, because I bet im not the only one on go daddy

Try removing the _ and number from your cookie name. Just use letters.
