Mark as "Sticky"

On the first 2 areas in my forum,I have them "locked" so no one can post,It is just to give them some information about the forum. I am new so I do not know if I have this set correctly or not. Should it be a "sticky"? If so how do I turn it into a sticky? Thanks for looking and for any answers you guys give me.

In a thread you have down to the right bottom a Quick moderation tool, where you can choose the setting of the thread, like "sticky" and other things.

I seen that box on the lower right,On the "drop down" area,It did not have "sticky" in that area. I can not even unlock it now.

The ability to make sticky post is set in the forum permissions so check you have the forum permissions correctly set, as for unlocking the forum you will need to do that in the forum management section of the Admin control panel. If you mean unlocking topic you will need to make sure you have the correct forum moderator permissions set

Check the group forum permissions. Being able to do a sticky is forum dependant based on the group you're in.

I'm still stumped on this one,I changed all kinds of settings so I have full access and permissions to everything and still can not figure it out. Oh well

You have to be a full moderator for the forum to see all of the options.

Not necessarily. A user or group can be granted sticky permissions on an individual basis, and do not need to be part of a set moderator group.

First off.....Thanks for the replies. I have gotten as far as what the diagram shows. When I go to turn it to a sticky,It tells me I must "choose a topic",There are no topics to choose. Should I just delete the 2 areas and start over?

Have you tried adding yourself to the Administrators group?

Manage Group > Administrators (Members) > Then type your name in the bottom user name field.
