Changing forum permissions

Post by Dan Epps »

When I try this I get an error in IE7 as shown below. After I select the group and click "Edit Permissions", IE shows an error in the status bar.

If I click on "Advanced Settings" I get the same error but on a different line number.

Is this due to some setting in IE7 or does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Why don't you change to Mozilla Firefox?
Can you please fill out a support ticket?

It will be difficult to diagnose without seeing the source of your adm/index at that point.

When you get the error, do a view-source and see what is on line 228.

I don't control which browser my users prefer to use.

It looks like it has something to do with a tooltips mod. You should ask in whatever thread you downloaded that from.

Hmmm... on looking at that permissions page... That is the standard code.

Yep, it is a fresh install of 3.0 gold...no mods. It also does not matter whether I go to ACP from inside my firewall (direct connection to server via LAN) or from the internet.

Do you get the same error using Firefox? The Javascript console errors in Firefox are better than the ones shown by IExplore.

Okay...got it!!!

The adm/style directory was missing all .js files. Adding them back from the original zip file corrected the problem.

This is not the first issue I have encountered with missing files after the installation was completed. All of the smilies and other images were missing as well.

I am going to copy all files from the original zip file to the server just to be certain nothing else is missing.

Oh, I hadn't really done anything that needed saving in it and I would just as soon start with a clean install again.
