I was reading that the mods are to be made for prosilver? Are they not going to be compatible for styles like extremepixels? Or is it the same as 2.x and they'll still no doubt work?

Correct me if I heard wrong sorry, just an issue I wanted answered before I go too far.

On phpBB 2.0.x was it also the case that the only work with the default style , on that case it was subsilver.
Now it is prosilver indeed, and prosilver codes do not work on subsilver based styles.
So no it won't work yhe prosilver codes are diffrent (div , css style(s) )
You must edit it by your self, or in some cases have the mod author include a subsilver version.

So all these styles in the styles database are going to be useless to the mods?

When the are based of subsilver yes, when its based on prosilver no.
Or the MOD must have a subsilver files/edits into it.

Just so you know I'm not talking about subsilver 2.x

So when you say subsilver you mean subsilver2?

I never had actually modded any of my 2.x versions when I had sites up with it, but never knew that. Seems big.
So once I setup an extremepixels skin on my BB3 then most mods won't work with it by default?

It is a possibility that the don't work, if the author do not have a subsilver2 edit added to the MODs
But many mods have included that and yes some also not, but you can always ask the mod author of he can write it for subsilver2 :)
