hi

Im getting a 404 error code for indeforum.php ??

does anyone know if indeforum.php exists ???
else im going to set up a redirect since there seems to be an error somewhere >>>

its on a site called homesplaces.co.uk

but sounds like index and forum got mixed ....
in which case i will set up a redirect if i cant find the error easily....

that why im wondinging if this actually a page called indeforum.php...

No, I do not believe there is a page called indeforum. I think you're correct in thinking it is a mash-up typo in some file with index and forum.

I would suggest finding the source of the problem instead of using the redirect as a cover up as it might create problems later ;)

Its one of those strange ones..... i cant find the indeforum.php anywhere
thats why i think I will set up a redirect.

How do you stop referer spam entering the site. If you redirect in the htaccess the referer still lists in the stats....

I've got loads of 404s for this page also?

greping the source shows no "indeforum" anywhere?

There is no indeforum.php in phpBB.
If you are seeing it on your logs, I am betting it is a vulnerable Mod page, and hackers are seeing if your website is using it, so they can hack your site.

I've come to the same conclusion as it is flanked by other modx type exploits.

They may only be probing for the presence of another type of forum not just a mod. I've setup a 301 redirect!
