[Solved] Custom BBCodes Functioning Selectively

Post by Wizen »

Your board's URL: http://dnd.labgroupx.com/ - user: read-only -- password: password
Version of phpBB3: 3.0.0
Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)?
Relatively fresh, less than 24h old.
Was this an install through your host?
Not sure what you're asking, is on a hosting service, but I copied / installed it myself.
MODs you have installed:
Prime BBCode Note
When the problem started:
When I tried to -use- Prime BBCode Note.
Template(s) used: PlainJane, ProSilver
Language(s) used: British English.
Version of PHP used: 4.4.8
Database and version used: MySQL v5

The problem is this:
I've installed the Prime BBCode Note mod successfully because as a DM of a 3.5e D&D game, I need something to hide results from skill checks at first glance. Initially the edits to overall_header.html weren't taking, but I found the solution on these forums and purged the cache. Now that all the code is in place, the custom BBCode still isn't working, as the contents of the HTML Replacement section in the custom BBCode's configuration screen aren't being substituted into the [note] You hear a moth's flatulence [/note] bbcode.

Basically, when I take a look at the code of the test topic page, I see:

Code: Select all

[note] You hear a moth's flatulence [/note]
where I SHOULD be seeing:

Code: Select all

<span class="prime_bbcode_note_spur" onmouseover="show_note(this);" onmouseout="hide_note(this);" onclick="lock_note(this);"></span><div class="prime_bbcode_note">You hear a moth's flatulence</div>
Halp? :)

This sounds like an issue with the Prime BBCode MOD so you'd be better off asking the author for guidance.

It's not an issue with the mod.

I created a new BBCode, used only the samples given on the create custom bbcode page, and no dice.

What've I done wrong? Custom BBCodes are -non-functional-.
