Automatic URL translate ...

Post by TheHighwayman » Mon Mar 31, 2008 8:54 am

Hi,
If I write an url, like "http://www.mydomain.com/community/" in my post, without the url tag, when I send the message, the url is translated in "community/".
Why this?
I if try the same in this own forum all works fine.

Thank you in advance

The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor
And the highwayman came riding, riding, riding,
The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn-door..."

URl's which contain the board domain are considered local and thus the magic URL function will trim the 'local' domain from the visible link.

For example

Code: Select all

http://www.phpbb.com/community/posting.php?mode=reply&f=46&t=863725
becomes http://www.phpbb.com/community/posting. ... 6&t=863725

if this is not how it is working on your board can we get a link to an example post please :)

OK,
but is there a way to avoid this behaviour?

Thank you again.
