Upgraded to 3.01 - Cannot Access ACP or Logout

I upgraded my board to 3.01 by copying over just the Changed Files and after completing the process I tried to access my ACP. I am able to authenticate my Admin password, but instead of going to my ACP it takes me to the Login Screen again.

After I again authenticate the Admin password to access ACP, it states that authentication was successful, but again takes me to the Login Screen and get the following error message:

To administer the board you must re-authenticate yourself.

So then I try to log out but get the following error:

You were not logged out, as the request did not match your session. Please contact the board administrator if you continue to experience problems.

I cannot log out of my board even though I am logged in as Admin.

Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? This was an Upgrade by copying over Just Changed Files to my existing forum.

Was this an install through your host? I FTP'd the Changed Files using FileZilla.

MODs you have installed: NO MODS on my system.

When the problem started: After file copy was completed and trying to login and access my ACP.

Template(s) used: ProSilver

Language(s) used: English

Version of PHP used: 3.0.1

Database and version used: MySQL client version: 5.0.22

Boy, it looks like there are some problems with the 3.01 update... but be not afraid, it will be fixed I'm sure...

I did the following i installed all the old files back to my ftp from the install folder you get when you download the update i can now get back onto my acp just got to figure how to update now so i don't loose access again.

This is just what I did... I had an older backup of a working forum and FTP'd over it's contents. I am now able to Log out, access my topics and ACP modules.

It looks like there has to be some changes to 3.0.1 and release a 3.0.2 version... I for one, will wait till they get this worked out... As I am sure they will.

It looks like there has to be some changes to 3.0.1 and release a 3.0.2 version... I for one, will wait till they get this worked out... As I am sure they will.

The issues are likely to be with the way you updated, I know in the case of emmalou she was not updating correctly....how did you go about updating? Did you have a modified board in any way or was it completely vanilla?

I have the same problem after the update to 3.0.1

Before everything was working perfect.

Who has a solution for this problem???

What I see is everytime the sid value is changing.

That is supposed to happen, Have you done the basics such as clear your browser cookies? How did you update? Did you have any mods installed?

Yes there where mods and I updated automatically

As a guest the whole site is working as it should be.

I even can login and use my username and do all the things I can do.
I only can't access ACP.

And yes I did clear my cookies, I cleared my browser's cache and the phpbb cache through ftp.

Still it's the same, It askes for admin login and then refresh the page and askes again for admin login.

As I mentioned earlier, my board is totally vanilla, no mods at all... I updated by first making a backup of my MYSql database, copied over the existing board before updating then downloaded the install files for "Just Changed Files".

I then unzipped the files and copied over the files from the unzipped files to their respective folders on my board. That is when I had all my problems...

Isn't that what you're supposed to do, just copy the "Files that have changed", over to your board if this is the method you choose to upgrade?

I finally found it, well it's working now again.

In table sessions the field session_forum_id wasn't there so I inserted the field session_forum_id mediumint 8 unsigned and it's working now.

Could you pls guide me how to fix this trouble? I am not coder but i know little about html, hosting and opensource .

As told above

Go to phpmyadmin and find the sessions table.

Look for the session_forum_id field and if it's not there, insert it with properties mediumint 8 unsigned. Save your table and login in and see what's happening.

still does not work! just after i installed the grey version of the default template, and disabled front end registration, suddenly im logged out of the ACP. Hunted for solutions, have tried everything but something is still serioulsy missing!

Shockingly i did not fiend this field in the sessions table? but whats it for anyway, and why is it missing in a released "stable" software? seriously there is a great deal of worrying complexity in version 3 of this BB. keep it simple and usable guys
