Timeouts while updating from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1

Post by Hovik »

Hi friends, here is a copy of the page. Also my site is running very slow recently, I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the timeouts...

Code: Select all

Updating database to latest stable release

Database type :: mysql4
Previous version :: 3.0.0
Updated version :: 3.0.1

Updating database schema

Progress :: . . . . . Done
Result :: Some queries failed, the statements and errors are listing below.

Error :: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction
SQL :: ALTER TABLE `phpbb_forums` ADD COLUMN `display_subforum_list` tinyint(1) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '1' NOT NULL

Error :: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction
SQL :: DROP INDEX group_legend ON phpbb_groups

Error :: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction
SQL :: CREATE INDEX group_legend_name ON phpbb_groups(group_legend, group_name)

This is probably nothing to worry about, update will continue. Should this fail to complete you may need to seek help at our support forums. See README for details on how to obtain advice.

You should contact your host about the 'slowness' and timeouts.

Tried that, according to them it's loading "fast". Did you try to go to my site and see how slow it takes a thread to load? this site is a rocketship compared to mine, and mine used to be like this too, I just don't know what happened.

Loads fast for me and I'm only on a 128k ISDN dialup connection.

Yeah about 10 minutes after I got off the line w/ support it started to load faster. It's looking much better now, but I have a much bigger problem to deal w/ now. Every since the timeouts during the update from 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 I now am getting the message:

Code: Select all

This Board has no forums
This only happens when a regular member or moderator sign in, but not when I log in under my administrator account. Also if you are not logged in at all, the forums display fine... HELP, this is a big big problem.

Yeah I realized this and came back to retract my last post, looks like you beat me to it. I must say it's flipping retarded that the permissions get reset when you attempt to update the forum... totally retarded.

Thanks for your help just the same.
