After getting someone else to look into it, can someone explain this

In memberlist.php around line 728 - 731 it has check_form_key?

Can some tell me what check_form_key is?

Seems to be a BUG as without it, email works.

Thanks

You've now bumped 5 times, but have still not provided one shred of information that would allow us to diagnose and correct the issue. Please provide us with the information necessary to assist you by filling out the Support Request Template. Additionally, what style are you using and have you tried sending mail from prosilver?

It works correctly here and on thousands of other sites, so I wouldn't jump and say it's a bug before investigating the matter further.

I understand what you have said and if someone had asked me to do this earlier then I would have.

What I fail to understand is how you would diagnose the problem when you need to be a member of the forum to test the process?

I fully understand if it was a wide issue then everyone would have it, but then I am new so I do not have the Tech knowledge of scripting.

From my understanding there has always been email issues, but people use different methods e.g free webmail like Hotmail, Yahoo etc while some setup SMTP through the forum.

On the Board where the issues is, we do not use free webmail or SMTP.

Version of phpBB3:
3.0.1

Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)?
Conversation from PHPBB 2.0.23 ( the last version of PHPBB2)

Did you use an automated wizard provided by your host to install phpBB?
Ran per the Auto install and conversion

MODs you have installed:
Don't have any I don't think

When the problem started:
After conversion

Your level of expertise (be honest):
Newbie

Error is on any themes.

What happens is as follows

You click on MemberList
Select yourself ( easier to test this way)
Click on Email under Contact Section (for that person)

You then get the Email Form

Fill in the Subject and then the Message

When you then Click E-Mail or was it Send, you get the error

Hope this is more clear, but I asked the question first and thought someone may have come across the Form_Invalid message before.

Reading to what the check_form_key is, it seems to be a security in place for emails?

Thanks
