Top Nav Bar

Post by david63 » Sun Aug 24, 2014 9:54 am

Something that I have just noticed with the top Nav Bar is that if there are too many items to display on it then all of the items go into the "Quick links" menu - very clever, although I suspect it could be confusing for many users.

Is this the intended behaviour and if it is why move all of the items and not just the surplus ones?

It also begs the question of extension developers as to where they should add additional menu items - nav bar or quick links?

Where extensions want to add their links is completely up to the extension author.

There are a couple of tricks you can use.

Code: Select all

<li data-last-responsive="true">...</li>
The script will try to hide items with this custom attribute last.

Code: Select all

<li data-skip-responsive="true">...</li>
The script will never try to hide these items (not advised to use this, as it's mostly reserved for the MCP and UCP).
