Anouncement

Post by TWEagle » Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:17 pm

Hello

I have a little question

i am trying to adjust an extension I use for my forum (Support ticket)

I want to make it possible when I click on create topic that it also create an announcement what is 10 days on the homepage itself. Or if this isn't possible that the topic itself is for 10 days an announcement

This doesn't sound like you're a coder. So are you actually writing an extension yourself, looking to do some custom coding or seeking extension support?

I understood that. But you're not showing anything concrete. This forum is for discussing things in regards to developing extensions, so helping you out with some pointers. Nothing here shows that you already have something, as it is not a specific question about a specific subject.
It sounds like you just want someone to code it for you..

This is not an extension that I know but if it is already creating a topic then it will be a one word change (and perhaps adding one line of code)

An announcement is a post so functions_posting.php in /includes is probably a good place to start (I haven't checked but that's what I would do).

With all due respect but I really can't see someone code if they don't know how to search for the file in which a specific action is called.
Looking at which actions are needed to make an announcement should point to the areas in which your browser's inspector could be very useful.

Perhaps if you were to provide a link to the extension download somebody might be able to offer advice.
