Post by menz01 » Mon Mar 20, 2017 7:41 pm

Hello All,
I went to edit a post today and when i clicked the edit button i got a page that says"

General Error
Illegal use of $_COOKIE. You must use the request class or request_var() to access input data. Found in /home/content/27/7278227/html/forums/includes/functions_posting.php on line 1. This error message was generated by deactivated_super_global.

does anyone have any idea what this is?

That sounds as if you may be using some 3.0 code on a 3.1 board.

In a vanilla copy of phpBB $_COOKIE is not used in includes/functions_posting.php

Can you post the first 10 lines (in code tags) of your includes/functions_posting.php file

thank you for your help. your question made me look at the file and it was full of malicious code. Been fighting this attack for over a month now. i deleted my whole wordpress site that started the attack but it still pops up.

thanks for your help, i replaced the file and it works again
