database import fail

3.0.12 -> 3.1.1 fresh install on LAMP

After looking at the 3.1.1 update I decided to do a fresh rebuild.

Trying to [IMPORT] the 3.0.12 mysql tables data into the virgin 3.1.1 database fails due to a duplicate PRIMARY KEY

Suggestions ? Hints ?

Presumably the LAMP installation is a local test board? The best thing would be to start again by transferring your 3.0.12 board as per Knowledge Base - Transferring Your Board to a New Host or Domain to LAMP. Make sure everything is as it should be then carry out the upgrade following How do I convert my phpBB3 board to phpBB 3.1.x?.

Yes. local LAMP for testing. Thanks. I'll study the knowledge base link. Never occured to me to look since I've never run into this glitch.

The [DROP DATABASE] radio button export option was biting me in the arse
