Problem with smilies in quotes

If you quote text in a post and in that text quoted they put a smiley before the start of it, the smilies in the quote doesn't get converted to an image.

Example:

This text I will quote with a reply

[mrgtb]

This text I will quote with a reply

Now see what happens to smiley

[mrgtb]

It's not doing it here but on my forum it does using the same :lol: smiley placed before text quoted. It only shows the smiley code and not smiley. But if smiley was at end of text it got displayed OK

It also does it on my WAMP localhost setup of phpBB 3.1.2 as well. So it's not just the live forum happening on, but two I'm running that use phpBB 3.1.2
