The message commonly occurs when an index is created for the wrong search backend.

Just FYI. I came across this problem myself. I have no idea what is the use of this search index, but when the error ocurred to me was when I wiped out all the available test threads. I was preapring my board for going online, so I wiped the all the 'Test' threads with lorem ipsum crap plus the default thread you get with the fresh install and this warning popped up. The second I created a thread it all went back to normal.

I hope this helps someone as noob as myself, getting this error in future.

Same exact thing for me. I cleared all the "test" or "welcome" posts, and got the error. When a new post was made...no longer had the error.
