phpBB keeps logging out in Chrome

Hello,

I have the same problem on my forum as described in this topic:

I didn't want to hijack that topic, so I decided to start my own topic.

I have a forum running on phpbb 3.1.3
When I log in I select "hide me from the logged in users list" and "remember me".
On FireFox I'm logged in for over a month now, no problem there.
On IE same story, I remain logged in without problem.
On Chrome however, I get logged out ever few hours, for no clear reason.

I'm willing to accept that I misconfigured something, but I don't have a clue what.

I use the forum on phpbb.com on Chrome, and I remain logged in.
So the problem must be on my forum.

My forum is located on:
http://www.myforum.com
and can also be reached on http://myforum.com (so without www)

I tried changing the cookie name already, without success.

Current cookie settings:
Cookie domain: .myforum.com
Cookie name: phpbb3_h3m3erT1m3
Cookie path: /
Cookie secure: disabled

Any ideas? This has been driving me nuts for the past few weeks

Anything I can check in Chrome?

If you think it's Chrome you should ask them but I believe Robert suggested some settings for Chrome in the other topic? Can you post a link to your board please?

I know of at least one other person having the same issue as me.

I don't see suggestions related to Chrome in the other topic?

Yes, apologies, I mis-read. I just logged in as testphpbb, closed the browser (Chrome) re-visited with Chrome and made a post etc. without an issue. Your cookie settings look fine but try renaming the cookie (again?) and open the board’s /cache folder on the server and delete everything except index.htm and .htaccess.

Before I do that:

I already renamed the cookie, also emptied the cache folder before (except for the index.htm and htaccess file). Not sure if I did them in the same action, so I could try that.

If it works perfectly for FireFox and IE, what would renaming the cookie and/or clearing the cache do for Chrome?

Renaming the cookie forces your browser to accept the new one. Clearing the cache forces the browser to "see" the board in it's newest settings. Be sure to purge chromes cache and cookies or your browser may stop you from seeing the effect of the changes.

Currently trying out the given options.
Last time I had to log in on my forum was yesterday evening, and this morning I'm still logged in.
So that's looking good.

But, for the first time (since a week or 2?) I had to re-login on this forum in Chrome?
Maybe just coincidence.

I'll keep you posted if the problem is still present.

Still having troubles with this.

New info:
On the laptop where I have this issue, I use the forum on different IPs (home, work, etc).
The IPs are very different (not in the same range).

On my desktop computer at work, I don't have this issue in Chrome (logged in for 2 weeks now).
The IP at work does never change.

So I'm suspecting it is an IP security related issue in phpBB, or an issue with one of the addons in Chrome that I run on my laptop. Currently more suspicion towards the Chrome addons, since I have this problem also at home when I'm on the same IP. So will play around with those now to see if I can get it fixed.

I don't have any problems in FireFox or IE, only on Chrome.

That's why I'm suspecting the addons in Chrome.

I'm having this same problem too, but not with the desktop version of Chrome, only the Chrome mobile app for Android phones. It keeps logging me out all the time, especially when I try to submit a post. Something must be incompatible between phpbb and Chrome app.

Anyone else having this problem with the Chrome app for Android? Any suggestions or theories on why?
