The permissions drop downs are an action not a setting and will revert to the original selection because you don't want to copy the other forum's permissions every time you change a setting on the edited forum.

Group Forum Permission > Registered Users > Limited Access + Polls > then clicked Advanced Permissions but nothing happens.

in 3.0.x i was able to customize permission by clicking Advanced Permissions and choose whatever i want.

Disable all your extensions and see if that makes it work.

It's a standard option on 3.1 so the only thing you've changed that might be affecting it is the extensions you've added. Note too that most (if not all) are betas and shouldn't be used on a live board in case they cause things like this.

It could be a problem in permissions left over from MODs.

Uninstall and delete the date from the extensions and you can then remove non standard modules and permissions by:
  1. Make sure you make a backup of your database before proceeding.
  2. Uploading this file, modission_reset.php, to the root of your board installation on the server.
  3. Log into the board as a founder and/or admin.
  4. Navigate your browser to the file, for example http://www.example.com/example_forum/modission_reset.php
  5. Choose modules and permissions and run the file
  6. It will tell you how many modules and permissions it deletes, or may give you some other message if all is not well. Make a note of that.
  7. It should automatically delete itself from the server, if it can't it will tell you.

Dont know whether its having a relation or not i have stumbled up on another thread for 500 internal server error problem ..... cleared the cache through FTP manually and changed the cookie setting and now able to change the permissions. :o
Mick wrote:The cookie settings look ok now. You can try manually clearing the cache using FTP by opening the /cache folder on the server and delete everything except index.htm and .htaccess if you can see it.
Mick wrote:One thing I notice is your Cookie domain is showing johnandbernie.com and it should be .johnandbernie.com, note the leading dot. Once you've fixed that rename your cookie by changing the last letter and purge the board's cache.
