Cannot access ACP after upgrade to PHPBB 3.1.5

Post by Arnold Hoddevik »

Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.1.5
What is your board's URL? http://www.skodjefotoklubb.no/phpbb
Who do you host your board with? http://www.proisp.no
How did you install your board? I used a tool provided by my host, Softaculous
What is the most recent action performed on your board? Update from a previous version of phpBB3
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? Yes
Do you have any MODs installed? No
Do you have any extensions installed? No
What version of phpBB3 did you update from? phpBB 3.0.0, not quite sure
What styles do you currently have installed? Default
What language(s) is your board currently using? English
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 4
What is your level of experience? Experienced with PHP and phpBB
What username can be used to view this issue? adm
What password can be used to view this issue? *****
What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? After upgrading from a previous version of PHPBB (not quite sure which), I opened the forum, and everything looked okay. When I tried to access ACP, I got the error message when I submitted the logon to ACP. We also have CPG installed, and upgraded to the latest version. PHPBB and CPG use the same user managment with PHPBB. Regular users can log on, and everything looks normal. The problem is only when adm is logging on to the ACP.
Please describe your problem. Either a blank screen or the following error message: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'DateTime::__construct() [<a href='datetime.--construct'>datetime.--construct</a>]: Failed to parse time string (@<UNIX_TIMESTAMP>) at position 0 (@): Unexpected character' in /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/phpbb/datetime.php:50 Stack trace: #0 /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/phpbb/datetime.php(50): DateTime->__construct('@<UNIX_TIMESTAM...', Object(DateTimeZone)) #1 /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/phpbb/user.php(720): phpbb\datetime->__construct(Object(phpbb\user), '@<UNIX_TIMESTAM...', Object(DateTimeZone)) #2 /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/includes/acp/acp_main.php(462): phpbb\user->format_date('<UNIX_TIMESTAMP...') #3 /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/includes/functions_module.php(674): acp_main->main('main', 'main') #4 /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/adm/index.php(81): p_master->load_active() #5 {main} thrown in /home/skodjdkp/public_html/phpbb/phpbb/datetime.php on line 50

That is not the only error on your board,
Eg: TOTAL_POST_COUNT , COLON, etc.
You should contact your host for support on this issue.

It's probably due to this

Run this query and post the output:

Code: Select all

SELECT * FROM phpbb_config WHERE config_name = 'board_startdate'

That's due to out of date language packs. Your host won't be able to help with either error.

Did the the update on language and styles pack - COLON dissapeared.
Did also the query, and start date just says <UNIX_TIMESTAMP>

Your board start date has junk in it. Go here and enter a date on the right that you would like to use as your board's start date and get the unix timestamp: http://www.unixtimestamp.com/

Then use the number in this query and run it:

Code: Select all

UPDATE phpbb_config SET config_value = 'TIMESTAMP_HERE' WHERE config_name = 'board_startdate'
Replace TIMESTAMP_HERE with the value you obtained from the other site. Then delete /cache/data_global.php.

Set the start date to 2010,04,08, 20:00:00, timestamp 1270756800, and updated the file, but still I get error message.

The incorrect value is cached. Open the board's /cache folder on the server and delete the data_global.php file.
