MySQL database questions - size limit?

My hosting provider has a space limit set on my databases at 70mb each. In plain terms is this sufficient for my forums? How much space do I typically need for a popular forum with say 1000 members? I can have up to 30 separate databases but they are limited to 70mb each. Is it possible to have more than one database for the forum?

That is completely inadequate for even a mildly busy board. It is possible but very difficult to use multiple databases for a single board. I would look for a different host.

I agree, get a better host. that is simply rediculous to have that restriction.

Total posts 36024 • Total topics 3109 • Total members 422 • Database Disk Usage 115.2 MB

70mb database, thats pitiful

our phpbb database is 670mb+

dont get the impression that this is because phpbb requires large databases.

70MB is very very small for any website database that has anything other than a simple bunch of html pages
