RESOLVED - A module already exists

Post by Ivgoneridng »

I'm trying to install the phpbbmodders adduser extension to my 3.1.10 board that has recently been upgraded from 2.x.

When I go to the customise panel and try to activate the extension, I get the following error:
Something went wrong during the request and an exception was thrown, The changes made before the error occurred were reversed to the best of our abilities but you should check the board for errors. A module already exists.
I know I had an add user type addition in 2.x but have no idea how to back it out before the upgrade as I can't see any obvious files for it.

Help!?! Please?

Remove the module in the module management section. Then enable the extension.

I don't appear to have a module management section:

It is. Is that not where I need to remove the module from?

I looked in the ACP for 3.1.10, and eventually found module management, but the ACP_User_Registration module isn't showing.

I have used a vanilla install of 3.1.10 and converted my existing database to get the new forum.

I suggest to convert phpbb2 to phpbb3.0.14 first, use then the STK to clean up the DB and after that upgrade 3.0.14 to 3.1.10.

Call it the right thing.

I did start down that line, but couldn't make head nor tail of the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 :-/

So I tried that.

In 2.0 where did the mod show up?

I can't get into the ACP to see because we have login redirect installed which keeps taking me to my live site :-(

I can't get into the ACP on my test server. I can in live.

EDIT:
It comes up as an option in the user area (Register User)

In phpBb 3.1.10 it comes right after "attachments" in
ACP -> system -> module management -> ACP -> Users and Groups -> Users

Try this script into your test server, assuming it is 3.1.10. And see.

The script that removes Automat?

There were no options apart from auto mod to check. Should I run it on the 3.0.14 version?
