Remoe site name and desc

Post by abcd2014 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 12:21 am

I delete the 2 lines from overall_header.html
<h1>{SITENAME}</h1>
<p>{SITE_DESCRIPTION}</p>

then
1. re-upload the file
2. Clean cache by "clean all history" on FireFox
3, refresh page

But I can't find any change, site name and desc are still there.

see http://mathlaunch.com/forum/

why?

I can confirm that the code has been deleted but the page is still showing the name and description. the only thing I can think of is some type of caching going on at the server level. check in your hosting control panel and see if you have cloudfare turned on and if so, turn it off and see what happens.

I have other html pages, I have no problem to change them.

is it possible that my host caches only the overall_header.html?
could you provide more details please?

BTW: I downloaded the file and checked it: it is changed

yep, I can see that it is changed, you can simply view source of this page: http://mathlaunch.com/forum/styles/pros ... eader.html

and see that the code is missing.
however, I have no idea about the host caching thing. check it to find out.

it is just a piece of html code, my host should not cache it.
I guess i need to change other files, but I can't find clue by google.

he has already delete the code for it from the overall_header.html file. it should not be showing regardless of what he does in the admin panel for the setting.

2. Clean cache by "clean all history" on FireFox
?

Try and purge the cache from the ACP, after every template modification.

Could you provide process, e.g. ACP\General\..., for the purge?

I can't find where it is.

BTW: I have rebooted my PC, but still no change.

Yes, but my point was that there was no need to edit the template to accomplish this.
