PM Lag

A couple of my users have noticed a "lag" when opening the PM system. It stalls for a short period before opening.

Anything I should watch?

Also, we sometime see a "lag" when making a post. It will sit for a few seconds before going. But it usually (almost always) goes through. Our database is getting pretty large and I wonder if that is having an effect. Don't want to delete or prune the forums because there is a lot of information on the threads.

Maybe the lag is for users with lots of PMs, the info for which has to be loaded in their various boxes. Moving more data takes more time. Not sure there is a magic phpBB bullet to fix that. If we are talking a few seconds, tell them to be glad they're not on a 300 baud dial-up, like we used to have.
