is subsilver2 from https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/tree/dev ... pBB/styles
stable enough to use if someone still wanted to use it? reason I ask is I have a couple styles that are based off of it and wanted to update them to 3.1.x

You should get it here: https://download.phpbb.com/pub/release/ ... _3.1.1.zip

Personally I would suggest doing something like "subsilver3" and based it on prosilver and use inheritance.

I should note that subsilver2 doesn't have many of the new features added to prosilver, so basing your subsilver theme on prosilver guarantees your users would have those features.

thanks, I may do that eventually but at the moment its just easier to update it as there were less changes than prosilver and less stuff to do :)

Hi. I've managed to get images to autoresize to a maximum width. I'd like to get avatars to autoresize also. Can anyone tell me how? I can't find the word avatar in the stylesheet.

First do not highjack others threads. Create a new topic if its not already answered in another thread.

as to your question, avatars are img tags in the html for nessecary reasons. .postprofile .avatar img will select it do to the over selctivness used. Though I am not sure what you are trying to do. Are you attempting to scale them?

I'd like them to resize automatically. I've managed to get images (whether in posts or signatures) that are larger than a certain width to resize automatically to that width, and the height follows suit so the proportions stay the same. Now I'd like to know how to do the same thing for avatars.

first it depends on what manner the user is serving ther avatars as like I said its an img element in the htm with a set height and width attribute. this needs overidden or removed from the html.

Then you would need to specify .postprofile .avatar img is width:100%

next .postprofile .avatar needs adjusted to remove the max-width property

the avatar should then take on the height of its container

Where do I find that code for subsilver2 though? I know there are postprofile.avatar lines in the contents file of the prosilver theme, but all I could find for subsilver2 was a stylesheet, and I couldn't find the word avatar in it.

If you don't know how to use sub2, why are you answering questions in a thread on sub2?

confused where the discussion came from originally as I responded from notifications

subsilver does not rely on css classes as much so you will need to add your own classes in the template to target it.

This is actually a bug i believe that we need to fix in the future where the actual avatars should have their own classes to better target them.

fro now in viewtopic_body.html on line 203 you should see the following code

Code: Select all

<td>{postrow.POSTER_AVATAR}</td>
you need to give the td a class of .avatar

Code: Select all

<td class="avatar">{postrow.POSTER_AVATAR}</td>
you can then in your css add a rule to reset the scaleing

Code: Select all

.avatar img {
width: 100%;
height: auto;
}
this will reset the image to enable it to fill the contents of the container

Thanks. In what file do I need to add that rule, and whereabouts?
