GIT Vs Notepad++ for Translation Editor

Post by Peteh_2 »

Hello to all supporting members,
I want to know that where the differences comes when translation is done by notepad++ and not by the git software.
Actually I have made the translation in Hindi language and use notepad++ editor for this purpose to make changes in the files after => this arrow as per the instruction given here; https://www.phpbb.com/languages/apply.php
Since I am not familiar with Git, so I can choose notepad++ to make changes and finally I have done my language pack in Hindi and is installed successfully but when I am applying Hindi language for my board or clicking on any link then It's unable to redirect and shows a blank page.
I am searching for the defect but there is no defect after => this in files.
So I need help and support, If anyone want my translated files to review than I can make it available on Github.
Thanks

ALL files need to be saved as UTF-8 no-BOM -> file Encoding.
Notepad++ is OK, you just need to set it for the good.

Yes, I have saved as UTF-8.
Have you any idea why this happened and how can I make it correct?

Thanks

If you saved as UTF8 then change the file encoding to UTF8-no BOM and save it again overwriting it.
