Show last login date on profile

Post by Fast_Eddie »

Hello all :)

I'm really hoping someone would be able to make a small ext that would add a permission for display of a users last login date in their profile. Nothing fancy ....just yes or no. :)

Display users last login date in profile: [ ] YES [ ] NO

Then I would be able to have group that displays it.....and one that does not.
Can it be done?

Need a bit more information.

Is this date to appear on a user's main profile and/or mini profile?

Is this to be a Group option or a group permission?

Basically this should be quite doable - might have a look tomorrow.

The permission "Can see hidden users" is already used for that, or at least it used to be. That Last Active Date used to be overridden by the last Login date in places.

What about members who like to stay hidden (like I do).
Will my hidden status remain? Think carefully about your answer, I've got my lawyer on the phone ;-)
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Then you're about to pay a week's salary per hour for them to tell you
"It's his board, he can do what he wants. We take cheques and cash only." 😜

Brf's point does seem important to affirm: That "Last Active" can be what everyone "really wants to see", rather than literally "Last Login".

i.e. How recently was this user looking at posts or pages on the site, which can be days or even months more recent than "when were they last successfully presented with a username and password challenge."

Didn't think about the hidden users online .....I don't use that for any access level at this point....but someday? ....and if somebody else wants to use this it might be a good option? ..... was thinking simple and small.
But thank you all for the quick input!!!!!!! :D :geek: :ugeek:

Two questions.

1. Do you want "Last login" or "Last visit"? Both are possible.
2. Is the permission to display the data or to view the data?

For most phpBB board I visit I use the "Remember me" feature, so when is my 'Last login'?

On some phpBB boards I visit I use the "Hide my online status this session" feature, so when is my 'Last login'?

Took a bit longer than expected (other things got in the way!) but here you are https://github.com/david63/loginonprofi ... ve/3.3.zip

You will need to set user and/or group permissions for who can display the last login and who can see the last login

What I'm seeing so far....have it installed on a test board (3.3.1) out of date.

With permission set to NO :
I can still see last login in main profile
But it's hidden in mini profile (like when you make a post)
and it reads: No Data

Request:
Would it be possible to have a input field where it says ' no data' to put your own text in there...or something like 'post for more access'
Not trying to make this a pay site but want to generate more posting :)

Thanks again ! PM me for prices if need be

Update after taking a second look:

last night i did not see this line in profile permission tab:

Code: Select all

Can view last login on profile
Which i thought was why i was still seeing last login in the main profile
So ticked it to NO today ....but it's not saving it. When i go back to it
it is set back to YES again. Hope this helps?

Edit: Just checked user permissions and it is saving the changes
but still not applying them when you view main profile. Also noticed
on the USER permission page the MISC tab is NOT green even though
all permissions checked YES
