'Open links in new tab/window'

Post by HiFiKabin » Sat Oct 25, 2014 11:12 am

Obviously Prime Links doesn't work in 3.1.x (I've tried it)

Anyone got any ideas?

Of course it doesn't work. MODs don't work on 3.1 ;).

You'll have to wait for it to be converted to an extension.

I know, but some simple edits do work. As Prime Links is just one block of code and one file I thought it worth a try.

I have 'fudged' others to work OK which is why I asked.

Please create this mod for phpBB 3.1: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/prime_links/

External links in new tab, attribute noffolow and hide external links for guest. Prime Links is excellent mod, but does not work in version 3.1. :( Thanks.

You should ask the mod author if he's going to port it to 3.1.

Both links in new window and forum link in new window from phpBB3.0.x work in phpBB3.1.x

Not as easy to install as Prime Links, but it works on my test forum OK

But you aren't supposed to alter core files in 3.1. It is a simple enough task to create for 3.1...maybe I will write up an extension this evening for it.

I know I shouldn't

Thanks, it'll be great if you could write one. MODs I can do, Extensions are beyond me

I uploaded the folder to ext/rmcgirr83 and went to the Customise tab, but its not there. Your Top five Extension is in the same directory, and that is all present and correct.

Have I missed something?

To be clear within the ext/rmcgirr83 directory there should be two additional directories. elonw and topfive with those type cases with the files/directories from each mod located in their applicable directory. Is that the case?

When I try them both on my local test bed, they both install correctly if done as per above.
