Sadly I have discovered that Tapatalk-users still see softdeleted posts

I mean... You can always just move topics to a trash bin forum which only moderators and admin can see.

The idea of Trashbin is a way different.
  • ppl(users) can see(read only) the deleted topics & posts that no longer belong to the forum they was created in
  • the topics can be restored to where they belonged before they was deleted
I can give an example from other site but we all know what I am talking about :)
  • if I soft-delete a topic nobody can see it(can't be read), but admin+mod can restore it, there is a mark to where it belongs & can be restored easily to the place*(for me it's very important) it was/is
  • I tried moving a topic in a locked forum but after I've got 20+ topics I'll be wondering from where they are &
2nd when I move them back they are placed on a first place as a new topics which is not the place*
Thank you.

Okay, so how about a forum where everyone can see, but only admin of moderators can reply? Moving topics doesn't necessarily mean it gets bumped to the top of the list I don't believe.

I see what you mean about wondering where the topics originated from, that wouldn't be solved by doing that no.

I love the soft delete method that is now default on 3.1

But I would love an extension which extends that feature and allows the use of a trash bin.So once you've deleted a topic/post it goes straight to the trash bin instead.

But still with possibility to recover the post/topic automatically to original topic/forum. Like trash bin in desktop operating systems.

For your requirements from your second quote, you can use this extension instead of a automatic re-move:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... ve_message
You have a track of moved topics (be aware: never prune your moderator log!). So you know to which forum you have to move your topic back.

Nah, I would prefer something that's is focused on Quick-mod tools > Soft Delete > topic moves to Trash > eventually I can restore it back from Quick-mod tools or something like that
but specified on Delete/Restore
anyway thanks for some tips & tricks ^^
still useful & handy : )

just reminding...
Must have Restore/Recover option (so topic/post can be restored on it's original place (& time preferably if possible)) & store place(specific forum).
Suggestion:
Any way to add an option with tick ? or for both "Yes" to send the topic in trash bin/specific forum/
  • about a post(s)
    Image
  • about a topic(s)
    Image
thanks

Have a look at https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/trashbin/.
It seems to correspond to most of your needs.
