inject custom code in to header and footer

Post by Walther » Thu Nov 13, 2014 3:03 pm

derived from Piwik Analytics

An extension wich gives the possibility to add custom code just before the </head> tag in the header, and a custom code just before the </body> tag in the footer.

I would like to see a 'page' in the EXTENSIONS tab, divided in two input forms.
The top input form is where you can admit the code which you want additional run just before the </head> in the header of any theme
The bottom input form is where you can admit the code which you want additional run just before the </body> in the header of any theme.

Would be nice if there is an [TRY] option to see what the output would be before it is saved

+1

Good idea, otherwise one would need an extension for each analytics software or code to insert in header/footer, and that would be a mess.

How about security, though ? i.e. how to make sure that the inserted code is functional and not malicious ?

the board owner would be the one inserting the code and therefore it would be their responsibility to make sure what they are adding to their boards.

Well, that is a risk which exist right now too, when a board owner edits the overall_header or overall_footer.
Hence my suggestion for the [TRY] or [PREVIEW] option

And of course:
