first thing to do would be to stop the spammers from registering in the first place.

use the Q&A with a good non-searchable question/answer.

for the ones that get through, use the prune function and prune users with no posts by date or whatever.
select the whole page of them at one time and click delete.

You can already do that.
Go to ACP / Users&Groups /Prune users
Click "Find a Member:" under the username box
In the popup memberlist, select Newly Reg'd Users group and Search
Checkmark users and click Select Marked
Submit Prune Users page.

Have you searched and not found the [DEV] Delete Inactive Users or do you also want to delete the newly registered who did activate their accounts but not post in X-number of days ?

You do not have to select a group there. You can checkmark from the entire user list if you wish, exactly as you asked for. And no, it does not leave them in a group. When you prune a user, it deletes them completely.

I have the feeling you're not reading the answers.
The extension I mentioned does what you want. Users who have not posted are not deleted, only users that did not activate their account in X-days
