Show subscribers to 'Topic' and 'Forum'

This would be nice I think, basically show users who have subscribed at the bottom of both topics and forums like so:

Subscribers: ExampleName, ExampleName, ExampleName

Requests:
Probably best if bots can't see it at all? so as not to start following profile links.
Can't think of much else right now...

It might work on a small board but how would you handle it on a large board with possibly thousands of subscribers?
