Change post date

Post by zapacit » Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:32 am

Hello,

I am requesting an extension to be able to change the post date.

I can't figure out how to do it from phpmyadmin.

Well there was a MOD in development for this feature so maybe it can be ported. It was this MOD: viewtopic.php?p=12881195

I will do it if I can, I need it for my forum, and I had it working on 3.0.

But do not rush it, I have plenty of other things in the queue.

Looks really good. Hopefully someone can port this or do something similar.

Joking, I don't wanna rush you. But please, don't forget us, the common people.

You dont need an extension if you only need to do it once or twice...

Follow the instructions to do it from phpmyadmin.....
replace timestamp with the number and POST_ID with the id of the post u need it changed for....

Right Dragosvr92 but you also need modifying some entries into phpbb_topics like :
  • topic_time
  • topic_last_post_time
And phpbb_forums like :
  • forum_last_post_time
This to prevent errors in case the post modified is first/last from a topic/forum.

Even if you always could synchronise forums/stats in admin panel.

Yes, thats true. It depends of the post. But you can still run multiple queries to change everything properly, by just filling these fields and run your code if you only need it done once or twice.

Code: Select all

 UPDATE phpbb_posts  SET post_time = $timestamp  WHERE post_id = $PID;
 UPDATE phpbb_topics SET topic_time = $timestamp WHERE topic_id = $TID;
 UPDATE phpbb_topics SET topic_last_post_time = '$timestamp' WHERE topic_id = $TID;
 UPDATE phpbb_forums SET forum_last_post_time = '$timestamp' WHERE forum_id = $TID;
I think a phpbb script will just lose compability by the time someone would need this as we can already see.... I think it would be better to have it as simple a PHP script in which you can fill the needed form fields, and update the database with a sql insert.

Really could need very quick an extension for this. Editing older posts at my forum, changed the creation date of hundreds of topics with the editied date and it would take age to become everything back to the right times.

3.0.x support ended many years ago. Any approved MODs will be in the archive but if you decide to use any from there remember that there will not be ANY support for it available here.

3.2.5 is the latest version of phpBB and I suggest that you upgrade at your earliest convenience.
