This isn't what you asked for but it might do the trick, maybe?

The description is a bit off but here is what it does:
Generates a new permission which allows the user to only see topics they have started.
Meaning, any topic created, can only be seen by the member that created it.
If this doesn't do the trick, then i guess we'll see if someone picks this up as it's been requested a few times.
