I am a coder and I can assure that it is not "simple". Not only that but such an extension will probably be quite time consuming and unless there is an extension developer with an interest in such an extension (or they have plenty of spare time on their hands) it is not something I can see happening in the short term.
i understrand but i mean there are similar extensions that would not take much modification to adapt to a more generic format, im looking at phpjabbers as they have several very specific scripts but nothing more generic.

the code is already out there look at thesamba classifieds...?

I see a big hole in the market for this extension. i'm baffled why coders arent working on it. :?

the market place extension is packaged for a specific template and not for prosilver, i think this is a huge mistake and not many people want to buy a template but the extension would sell easily

Gotta be patient. I feel confident that something will come along sooner or later.

I suspect that whoever is capable of creating such an extension, but unwilling for whatever reason fails to see the context and how it would fit right into many forums, for instance for hobbies, be it collectibles, nostalgia, car-modding and similar... these are also the type of forums in which if im not mistaken phpbb finds most of its users.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination to think of places where this could be an extremely useful and popular extension. I'm sure it would also help with the formation of new communities as some have this as a pre-requisite, it can also stimulate interest in slow-moving forums.

Digital items are in the wind with in-game currency, skins etc and what about the emerging markets for crypto-currencies?

An extension like this one here requested could take many months of development, FYI. ;) :ugeek:

Maybe this one in development is the one you are looking for?

It is a step in the right direction that's for sure and yes i do realize that such an extension could take a long time to make, but it is doable and i don't think it would be to difficult for somebody that knows what they are doing.

It works pretty well on any style, and prosilver too...

I would like to find out also.

I run a forum at where a large part of it is made up of Classified ads sections and would like to have a "marketplace" extension with PayPal integration and the ability for vendors to pay for premium listings. The ability to add fields and categories for the sale other than just "Subject" would be awesome!

So many forum communities have buy/sell sections, I'm surprised there aren't many phpbb extensions like this to choose from.

You could ask the owners of those boards how they did it or what they used.

The way I see it is that a shopping cart with credit card details, addresses, phone numbers and collar sizes (look what amazon needs for membership) is a huge undertaking and, IMO, should be a standalone program not a phpBB extension, its specialised. This is probably the reason no-one has taken up the challenge. I’m not saying it can’t be done but judging by the none show of prospective authors for over a year I’d say it’s very unlikely.

Then there’s the massive complication of GDPR and GDPR and even more GDPR to consider.
