Email on Birthday

Post by jackennils »

Hey!

I'm looking for an 3.2 extension like this mod here for the old 3.0.x:
viewtopic.php?t=828325

There is an extension made by forumhulp, but it's not officially approved and not working properly.
So I would really like to see an ext for this here. :)

Thanks
Nils

For 3.2?
Example?

Every time it's my birthday I get about 20 of those damn emails that day from forums I've joined. They all go in the bin :)

XYZ forums wish you a non-feeling automated happy birthday.

So you have also reached that age when you do not want reminding how old you are

Yup, aging can make one cynical... :P

Seriously though, a birthday e-mail could remind that user of the existence of that forum, and wishing happy birthday is a nice way to do so. :)

Is anyone thinking about coding this for 3.2?

I only receive a birthday e-mail once every 4 years and sometimes even that birthday greeting is skipped , seems like an error in phpBB
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

I suspect a parent's error choosing the wrong date for your birth :D

Have you tried with this one?

https://github.com/ForumHulp/emailonbirthday

I'm using it and it works perfectly.
