Save attachments on a remote server

Post by danitav93 »

Hello,
is there any mod that lets my forum save attachments on a remote repository (e.g. Amazon s3) instead of the local /files folder?
If not, it's possible to do that safely changing the code?
Thank you :)

A search of the CDB would have shown you that there is such an extension - https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/aws_s3/

Hi

I was looking for this as well, is that extension (https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/aws_s3/) compatible with phpbb 3.2.x ?

and/or just install it and test it your self. One of the great things about extensions is that it either works or it doesn't and if it doesn't you simply uninstall it and try something else.
remember, as long as you have backups you are only a few clicks away from a full recovery if things go sideways.

I use that extension in 3.2.2 and it works fine. I have yet to test with the latest 3.2.3. It should work though. But I had an issue with this extension with php 7.2. So I can only use php 7.1. The author seems not wanting to update it. It's really a pain to get going though since you have to use composer.
