Re: Popup for smileys

Post by Hartenheer » Mon Sep 24, 2018 11:50 am

I try to explain it with my bad English :mrgreen:

If there are no more smileys on the side.
Can this space be used for text buttons, Instead of icons that the user does not understand

Only try to make it easier for the consumer
There is still a lot of work for PHPbb volunteers

PHPbb has been the leader for years, and they just had to learn how it works
Now that FB gets in the way, it is different for the user when they come to a forum

A weird comparison:
They come from a bicycle {Facebook} and have to drive in a car {PHPPbb} without a lesson.
That is what I mean from the consumer
Sorry English is not my native language :oops:

Replace smilies with text buttons - is that what you mean?

Replace all icons for text buttons :o :mrgreen:

Create a button so that the popup {or what @KevC told} comes out shows up

I mentioned it in my first post.. it is modal). Well.. maybe someone wants to mess with styling and add it before new theme comes out.

Re: Popup for smileys - Smilies below message box

Post by Talk19Zehn » Tue Oct 02, 2018 11:46 am

Hello, to attract smilies below the textarea I use this extension: Smilies below message box created by Kirk
http://reyno41.bplaced.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=151

Hint: This concept display all smilies that have been entered in the ACP by selection ==> "Display on posting page" (!!).

To hide (or show) the box I adapted the CSS of the extension: looks like a checkbox
I added, inserted at the end: smiley_box.css

Code: Select all

/* smiley box css ADD checkbox
---------------------------------------------------- */
input.triggersmiley {
	display: inline-block;
	margin: 0px;
	padding: 0px;
	vertical-align: sub;
}

.smileyspoiler {
	padding: 0;
	margin: 10px 0px 12px;
	display: none;
}

input.triggersmiley:checked + .smileyspoiler {
	display: block;
}
I replaced the HTML in this EXT (here completely), please look also here: posting_editor_message_after.html

Code: Select all

	<div class="smiley-box">
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_smilies_before -->
		<!-- IF S_SMILIES_ALLOWED and .smiley -->
		<input type="checkbox" class="triggersmiley" />&nbsp;{L_SMILIES}{L_COLON} &hearts; {L_DISPLAY}
		<div class="smileyspoiler"> <strong>{L_SMILIES}</strong><br />
			<!-- BEGIN smiley -->
				<a href="#" onclick="insert_text('{smiley.A_SMILEY_CODE}', true); return false;"><img src="{smiley.SMILEY_IMG}" width="{smiley.SMILEY_WIDTH}" height="{smiley.SMILEY_HEIGHT}" alt="{smiley.SMILEY_CODE}" title="{smiley.SMILEY_DESC}" /></a>
			<!-- END smiley -->
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- IF S_SHOW_SMILEY_LINK and S_SMILIES_ALLOWED -->
			<br /><a href="{U_MORE_SMILIES}" onclick="popup(this.href, 750, 350, '_phpbbsmilies'); return false;">{L_MORE_SMILIES}</a>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_smilies_after -->
		<!-- IF BBCODE_STATUS -->
		<div class="bbcode-status">
			<!-- IF .smiley --><hr /><!-- ENDIF -->
			{BBCODE_STATUS} <!-- IF S_BBCODE_ALLOWED --> / {IMG_STATUS} / {FLASH_STATUS} / {URL_STATUS}<!-- ENDIF --> / {SMILIES_STATUS}
		</div>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_bbcode_status_after -->
		<!-- IF S_EDIT_DRAFT || S_DISPLAY_REVIEW -->
			<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_REVIEW --><hr /><!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- IF S_EDIT_DRAFT --><strong><a href="{S_UCP_ACTION}">{L_BACK_TO_DRAFTS}</a></strong><!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_REVIEW --><strong><a href="#review">{L_TOPIC_REVIEW}</a></strong><!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		</div>
	</div>

Clear all caches....

It seems to work. Only simple tests (phpBB-System-Version 3.2.3, php-5.6.33) and I do not work or tested it in all browsers and therefore without guarantee. Perhaps it is a first aid.

Hi, I don't have such malware message and can't confirm it either. Unfortunately I can't reach Kirk at the moment.

And I think it's a hoax into your "Browser, - or Firewall-System" . :?:
:cry: Regards

Edit:
Hi, if you do not succeed in your favor, please contact a company or directly authorized licensed phpBB developers. I wish success.

Edit2: 03.10.2018; 15:10
Hi, an error regarding the container nesting has just been noticed. I can't correct the above article anymore .....

Correction (HTML):

Code: Select all

	<div class="smiley-box">
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_smilies_before -->
		<!-- IF S_SMILIES_ALLOWED and .smiley -->
		<input type="checkbox" class="triggersmiley" />&nbsp;{L_SMILIES}{L_COLON}&nbsp;{L_DISPLAY}
		<div class="smileyspoiler"> <strong>{L_SMILIES}</strong><br />
			<!-- BEGIN smiley -->
				<a href="#" onclick="insert_text('{smiley.A_SMILEY_CODE}', true); return false;"><img src="{smiley.SMILEY_IMG}" width="{smiley.SMILEY_WIDTH}" height="{smiley.SMILEY_HEIGHT}" alt="{smiley.SMILEY_CODE}" title="{smiley.SMILEY_DESC}" /></a>
			<!-- END smiley -->
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- IF S_SHOW_SMILEY_LINK and S_SMILIES_ALLOWED -->
			<br /><a href="{U_MORE_SMILIES}" onclick="popup(this.href, 750, 350, '_phpbbsmilies'); return false;">{L_MORE_SMILIES}</a>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		</div>
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_smilies_after -->
		<!-- IF BBCODE_STATUS -->
		<div class="bbcode-status">
			<!-- IF .smiley --><hr /><!-- ENDIF -->
			{BBCODE_STATUS} <!-- IF S_BBCODE_ALLOWED --> / {IMG_STATUS} / {FLASH_STATUS} / {URL_STATUS}<!-- ENDIF --> / {SMILIES_STATUS}
		</div>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- EVENT posting_editor_bbcode_status_after -->
		<!-- IF S_EDIT_DRAFT || S_DISPLAY_REVIEW -->
			<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_REVIEW --><hr /><!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- IF S_EDIT_DRAFT --><strong><a href="{S_UCP_ACTION}">{L_BACK_TO_DRAFTS}</a></strong><!-- ENDIF -->
			<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_REVIEW --><strong><a href="#review">{L_TOPIC_REVIEW}</a></strong><!-- ENDIF -->
		<!-- ENDIF -->
	</div>
Please replace them, thank you.
