Multi level access (begginer, intermediate, pro, ultra)

Post by Filo_K »

Hello, I can not find any extension for multi level access restriction. I want to create forum not accessable for not registered user.
Admin should invite user. If user accept invitation he should have access level (group) begginer.
begginer - access level - 0 - could see only topics with access level begginer 0 not higher
intermediate - access level - 1 - admin should promote begginer user to intermediate, then he should have access to posts with access level 0 and 1
pro - access level - 2 - after promote user to pro level, he has to have access to topics with access level 0,1,2

Access levels could be user groups. It should be some kind of learning forum so begginers must not access to higher levels, lectures.

You can do that with ordinary groups. As people get to the level you want, just add them to another group with access to the next forum.

The problem is you would have to do it all manually because there are no definable criteria for each level. If you did it based on post count or time on the forum you can automate it with the auto groups extension.

So with ordinary groups I can set access to begginer group only for begginer posts and for intermediate access to all begginer plus intermediate topics?

You can make a group and give it access to a forum and 'no access' to the higher forums.

As people go up a level you can add them to the next group which has access to the first to and no access to the 3rd one.

e.g.
Make a group called beginners
permissions
group forum permissions
select that group
select the forum you DO want them to see
standard access

Select the forums you DO NOT want them to see
No access

repeat for each of the other groups you make
