Yes, when you install this extension the credits will not be in your footer any more. And there will be a new Credits link in your footer navbar. Clicking it will show and hide the credits. See the image in the first post.

I don't see any link in the first post.

I think that it is wrong to hide the phpBB credit

@ David The image changes showing both states.

Two of my extensions use third party images that must be credited back to the creator for you to use them. Using this would mean that the board owner will be violating those terms.

Also I never understand why anyone would want to hide copyright information anyway, but thats another legal minefield.

Wow. I had no idea this was a bad thing. Removing credits will get you no support. I understand why. I didn't know hiding them to save room in the footer would do that. Credits are still there, not removed.

But I removed the download link and will abandon this extension. I don't want to violate anything.

I'm using it and it's great and no i dont expect any support here as it aint what you crack it up to be  seen better support on facebook and thats saying some thing.

Now i do remember reading a post on this forum saying you can remove the copy right but exspect no support and a staff member piped up and said you cant remove and can move it else where so that is what this ext is doing.

I also "hide" them. The footer is getting to big. They are still present. I see no problem with that.

Support on Facebook...yeah that's going to be great for you going forward then. ;)

So there is no hard rule that removing the credit lines will cause all support to cease and desist, but each member of the Support Team has the option to help or not help someone that has modified or removed the credit lines and most in the community will also feel and react the same way. Many extension authors and translators also add to the credit line and many have also taken the stance of denying support if removed, that is their choice. Judging from your glaring review of the support received here then it looks like you already know this though. ;)
