There is no set date. It'll be whenever I feel it is stable and complete enough. Part of it depends on some template events being added to phpBB so that the prefixes can be shown in more places (mcp, etc.)
Miri4ever wrote:Ok got it working PHP 5.6 was not aktivated by default at the server.

I found it a little bit difficult adding forum and groups id there. Maybe there could be a dropdown bow to select those. Also an color picker for die PHPBB Colors and codes would be nice.

What I would really like, would be something like this:

viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2218556

coloring the complete prefix with different colors. Or something like the pretty topics ext.
I do plan to switch from a simple text box to dropdowns for users, forums, and groups.

Prefixes allow bbcode, so you can color the whole thing or individual parts using the [color] bbcode.

I have an issue where every instance that a prefix is used it gets added to a topic's Used Prefixes box.

http://gyazo.com/ffdce88f2b44c6d0727a07df91a954b5

I used it in 5 different topics and it shows up 5 times in a single topic's list.

Board information:
PHPBB 3.1.4
PHP Version 5.5.9

Since 3.1.5 is out there shouldn't be any problems finishing this extension, right?

I guess extension developer is waiting for some events to be approved to show prefixes in MCP.

I have not had a chance to try it on 3.1.5. My availability is limited right now so I'm not sure when I'll have a chance to fix it. I'll take a look at those additional events. Thanks!

Hey folks, I made some changes in the code the other day. It now works to add a prefix to new topics, and previewing doesn't clear the prefix changes. Unfortunately, I broke changing prefixes on the edit page, so I'll have to revisit that.

There is no ETA on a release. I only have so much time every once in a while to work on this. Note that the extension is currently not stable, and as is demonstrated by the above mentioned changes, some functionality can break from one commit to the next. Once I get it stable and release a version, I'll start to use branching so that there will always be a stable branch, but until then this is not meant for use on a live board, and is not supported.

Another update, I've fixed the edit issue, and now you can click on a prefix when you're in a forum or a topic and it will filter that forum to only shows topics that have that prefix applied.

Re: [ALPHA] [pre]fixed - Topic Prefixes extension

Post by imkingdavid »

One more thing - I've gone ahead and bumped this to ALPHA from DEV because it's mostly working. Once I have everything I need for version 1 in, and once things are a bit more stable and tested I can bump it to BETA and start working toward a release.

As a reminder, I appreciate anyone who is willing to do translations for me, but I ask that you wait to send them until I've gotten closer to a release in case wording of language variables changes between now and then.

It's functional but I'm not ready to call it stable. You are welcome to try it out on a test board and let me know what bugs you find.

Hello! Congratulations on the project that is very promising! :)

I downloaded and installed it on my testing forum and prefixes not appear, or to choose from when a new topic is created.

My PHP version is 5.4.16
