Re: [DEV] Board Statistics

This extension has been generating a lot of errors in the log and it was interfering with the extension Prime Ban To group. Prime Ban To Group uses a cron and it appears this one does too so not sure if that's it or not. Here are some errors I have.

Code: Select all

John P wrote:@KlausMaus, is your browser sending the referrer? Some browser don't send it.
I'm using IE11 and Firefox and I've no idea if they do so or not.
How could I get this info?

Now I see there was an update in github. I shall see if the cron issues still exist after the update.

It was the find_os.php error. The package should be updated.

Anyone still use this? It's spamming my Admin Log with the following:

Is this normal? It's went from 3 pages to 12 pages of admin logs in like 15 minutes.

I am still curious about the constant board statistic pruning in the Admin Log, literally pruning a few times per minute. It can't be good for the load on the server? Just curious if that's normal or not. Or maybe the most current phpBB messed up the extension somehow?

Is anyone having (or had in the past) an issue with this extension messing with the layout of the entire forum? Below are a couple links to screen shots with what I am referring to. This is a direct correlation to this extension, because all it takes is enabling and disabling it to change between these two states.

Please let me know if there are any issues with the links below.

Statistics Enabled

Statistics Disabled

Here are the error codes from the top of the screen when enabled:

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/ext/forumhulp/statistics/event/listener.php on line 184: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known

[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/ext/forumhulp/statistics/event/listener.php on line 184: fsockopen(): unable to connect to http://www.ip-api.com:80 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known)

Thank you again for taking time to take a look.

Maybe that is why my prosilver theme was messed up. I use the Aro theme and that works fine. But I now don't have this ext on anymore. I'll have to enable prosilver again and see if I still have the same results.

The listener is trying to get the address of your visitor but fsock isn't installed or open.

Never use DBUG on your live forum, it's for development puposes.

Do you know where I can find the Aro Theme so I can give it a try? I tried searching through the Styles database here, but couldn't come up with anything.

With as awesome as this extension is, thats like saying: Here's this shiny new Corvette, but you're only allowed to start it up and listen to it. You're not actually able to drive it and use what it's intended for.

If it's not going to get finished and published for live forums, it should probably be taken down. Just my thought.
