Sorry, I've tried the extension and it's already splitting files if needed.Hi,
I noticed you said in the description:
Could I propose that the site map would be split into different files? Google accepts big maps splits into multiple files. An easy way would be to add a parameter with the id of a forum, and would create the site map for this forum and sub-forum only (inclusion of the sub-forums could also be a parameter). On the servers with "millions of posts" or low performance it will probably fail due to "server overload". In the future I will try to fix it if possible
I'm wondering the same. I'd still like all the 'Member only' sections of my site to appear in the sitemap. Any little tweaks to get this working?Airwin wrote:I think I got a clue already what is going on.
I closed a big part of the forum for guests, only 3 topics remained open.
Those 3 are the url's that are created in sitemap the rest are not cached anymore.
So the extension only works correct when the forum is completely available for guests.
Is there a way to solve this?
That's the point. Google now can't see many links within the sitemap. I do want the links/forums listed within the sitemap for indexing, I just use 'member only' forums to entice registering.Lumpy Burgertushie wrote:including the search engines.
Like a lot of other people here has said, I have this installed and working fine. But no sitemap file in my root or anywhere else. I do have the online version, but when I try to submit it to google it says no sitemap found. How do i get a actual .mxl file in my root?A little site note:
There won't be a file named sitemap.xml located in your root directory of your forum. BUT you will get it if you got to this address: http://hifikabin.me.uk/sitemap.xml
So thats why I couldn't find it. I just assumed there would be a file in the root.
Yes, I have that. But what do I do with it? When I try to submit to Google it says no sitemap foundn the ext tab in the ACP click the link as I have arrowed. The sitemap will then open.
