When I install External Links in a fresh phpBB installation I get the phpBB Debug error.

I checked one of my forums where External Links works. It turns out to be version 1.0.4.

Can I get version 1.0.4 to check if it's version 1.0.5 which creates my problem?

Thank you very much. As I suspected, version 1.0.4 works.

What do you think the warning in 1.0.5 is about?

In my website stats I can see some links looking like this:

http://www.my_board/url.php?https://some_link.net

The problem is that there is not such a link (https://some_link.net) in any topic on my board and I really don't know if someone is abusing my board (maybe for some reason hiding correct referrer) or not. Can someone tell me if I should be worried or not?

You can disable an intermediate page in forum, if allowed sophisticated links.
For such links need to do parser or encoder and write to the database.

In future, me try make an extended version.

Is there any way to get rid of all the arrow icons that show up next to any external links? I havent looked into it much but just renaming the images does get rid of them but still leaves the image space there. Looks like of tacky with icons all over sometimes in the middle of a post.

Dont know if implementing an on off toggle for them is possible or not.

Just seen this extension and looks amazing - many thanks!

Just wondered if it would help solve an issue I have on my forum. I have a discussion section on a incentive affiliate network but a lot of people are spamming the forum with their affiliate link. Is it possible to block these links using this extension?
