Is there a way to use img as preview for youtube videos insteam of just the direct iframe? All vids have images associated with them located at i.ytimg.com/vi/*videoid*/hqdefault.jpg.

I'm trying to achieve something similar to the code below, this is to help reduce page loading as my users tend to post a lot of youtube content

Code: Select all

<div onclick="this.nextElementSibling.style.display='block'; this.style.display='none'">
   <img src="i.ytimg.com/vi/*videoid*/hqdefault.jpg" width="600" height="300" style="cursor:pointer" />
</div>
<div style="display:none">
    <iframe width="600" height="300" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uSQt4ckq-dg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

It's not currently a feature. I've thought about more efficient ways to lazy load iframes but I've never taken the time to implement them in this extension. :|

Either way, thanks for the quick answer. I'll see if I can't whip something up on my own for now

Hi. Are u can do it for embed videos from Youtube? Or say how i can do it. :|
controls=2 – Player controls display in the player. For IFrame embeds, the controls display and the Flash player loads after the user initiates the video playback.

Note: The parameter values 1 and 2 are intended to provide an identical user experience, but controls=2 provides a performance improvement over controls=1 for IFrame embeds. Currently, the two values still produce some visual differences in the player, such as the video title's font size. However, when the difference between the two values becomes completely transparent to the user, the default parameter value may change from 1 to 2.

This better load if a lot videos on page

Code: Select all

elseif($tb===104){$this->out.='<div data-s9e-mediaembed="youtube" style="display:inline-block;width:100%;max-width:640px"><div style="overflow:hidden;position:relative;padding-bottom:56.25%"><iframe allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no" style="border:0;height:100%;left:0;position:absolute;width:100%" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/'.\htmlspecialchars($node->getAttribute('id'),2);if($node->hasAttribute('list'))$this->out.='?list='.\htmlspecialchars($node->getAttribute('list'),2);if($node->hasAttribute('t')||$node->hasAttribute('m')){if($node->hasAttribute('list'))$this->out.='&';else$this->out.='?';$this->out.='start=';if($node->hasAttribute('t'))$this->out.=\htmlspecialchars($node->getAttribute('t'),2);elseif($node->hasAttribute('h'))$this->out.=\htmlspecialchars($node->getAttribute('h')*3600+$node->getAttribute('m')*60+$node->getAttribute('s'),2);else$this->out.=\htmlspecialchars($node->getAttribute('m')*60+$node->getAttribute('s'),2);}$this->out.='"></iframe></div></div>';

I will consider it but I don't like that it looks worse than the normal player.

If the issue is too many videos on the same page then the proper fix is to implement lazy loading. If someone wants to sponsor its development, I can be reached by private messaging.

You could add parsing links for direct address, ie the use of HTML5 player for the appropriate file extension (.mp3, .mp4 webm ogg and other)
You also do not work correctly coub - does not play, even though the scripts included.

Lazy loading slowly then image-video+script of youtube. You can try open 10-15 videos on page.

Does this ext still work?

I've uploaded it to the EXT folder and nothing pops up when I go to the back end of my site to manage the extensions.

Thanks.

I upload it to the EXT folder and then unzip it. That's it, correct? After that it should automatically pop up on the backend of the site?

actually you should unzip it on your computer first. then upload the included folder named s9e to the ext folder of your board.

then, in your admin panel, under the customize tab, you will find it under manage extensions. enable it.

This extension is absolutely Great!

Would it be possible to add to the:
tinypic TinyPic videos http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=29x86j9&s=8

an additional link format:
http://tinypic.com/r/29x86j9/8

as TinyPic is using the above as a "default" link format.

Thanks!
