Not much info?
Sshadow wrote:A very nice feature I had from a mod once would be to select a directory with several avatars in it. Then the avatar for users who have not selected one would be randomly chosen from that directory. The original mod is found here https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... _no_avatar_/
Was curious if you saw this? I meant to mention that it was a feature suggestion. It was late lol.

What exactly is wrong in the package? Are there any guidlines available?
Here D@ve: https://www.phpbb.com/extensions/writing/

;)
I meant that the type of the packaging mechanism can be wrong, not the contents/files.
The ZIP file causes errors while unpacking with functions_compress.php, a standard phpBB file.
So there can probably be some problems with that file or with the current ZIP file of the extension.

As shadow already pointed out: Can you provide a little more information about, the kind of users, that doesn't display the avatar?

No didn't saw it... I will consider it. But at the moment I haven't much time and I have to convert some mods into extensions.

One issue I have is that you have to hard code the path to the image in the ACP and the default "no avatar" is within the style structure. It would be better if you could pick up the user style and get the default "no avatar" from the user style - I accept that in the majority of cases they will probably be the same.

I don't have a problem with hard coding the path if it is a non style image. I would suggest a"Yes/No" option to use the style default.

It is there in language/en/info_acp_defaultavatar.php file.

in last line of info_acp_defaultavatar.php file , it is :

Code: Select all

	'USER'                        => 'Benutzer',
What does Benutzer mean ?

Thanks for keeping it in mind.

When archiving it set the "compression level" to "Normal". I noticed your using "Store" that may be whats throwing the errors.

Is it possible to be 2 default avatars according to the Gender of member ?

male.gif :-
Image

female.gif :-
Image

So, if the gender of member is male, this extension take the male.gif photo.
If the gender is female, it take the female.gif photo

Possibility to upload 2 avatars ( 1 for male, 2nd for female )

Just a small thing here... installing it is by adding a folder called 'dave' to the EXT folder, then put the 'defaultavatar' folder in the 'dave' folder.. otherwise it doesnt show up when looking at the listings in the 'Manage Extensions' link..

Cheers.

Thank you for this extension!
One feature-request/idea: random avatar from a folder with several pre-made avatars.
When a user registers and does not choose an avatar he/she will get a random (but then always the same) avatar from the folder. That would make the forum a little bit more "livingly".

Works perfectly within postings but the default avatar won't show up at user profiles :?

It works fine in profiles after replacing the group default avatars with a custom graphic.

Hi,

Would be great to have a default avatar for Guests as well (different from the registered members). Which would mean :
1 default guest avatar
1 default male avatar
1 default female avatar
1 default "gender not specified" avatar

(the last 3 ones though can be replaced by a unique "registered member" default avatar in case you're lazy ^^).
Thanks a lot !
