Why ?!!!

Just installed and got the same message here in Upload Extensions. Havent tried it yet though but I will and report back later when I get a chance.

does this work in 3.1.5?

When i place the downloaded file/folder defaultavatar_0.10.0 in to my /phpBB3/ext it does not appear in my list in Manage extentions..

At the moment those instructions are incorrect. You need to create a folder in the ext folder on the server named dave and then place the defaultavatar folder in there, so the path will be /ext/dave/defaultavatar/.

Its working perfect for me know on 3.1.5 so its obviously been developed up to a point from its starting point..but I couldn't answer your further developments question Sorry..
