I dont understand either. You cant reply to notifications at all anyways. You could just create a topic and link the notification to the topic and they can reply that way. Thats what I do/did.

Installed! I like the way this is constructed in the ACP. Thank you. :)

Cool :)

By the way, I'm working on 3 more conditions to come:
  • From date to date (with the ability of specifying only days or months or years or any kind of mix)
  • User registered before a date
  • User registered after a date
And I think it's all my ideas of rules for now. So after that I'll move to Release Candidate and it will be feature freeze.
If you want any more condition, now is the time 8-)

Thanks for this great EXT. Having used it only a few days I can see how it affects Google results. :)

I tried to add a notice and this happened. It seems I cannot add any more notices. What might be causing this?

Code: Select all

EDIT: All I did was clear the cache - all is good again. :)

And this really is a very useful EXT. Now, with still some of our forums (and probably millions of other forums in countless phpBB boards) Google results show text like FAQ, Log in, and the sort. It is a big change to actually have something useful and inviting in those results. This is a SEO EXT. :D

FredQ, sorry, I edited my post 1 minute after you replied. :D

We are using version 0.5.2-beta. And it works, thanks. :)

That's good. Quick question though: have you done any update directly in the database before it happened? If yes that's because the extension is using the phpBB cache system.

If you didn't change anything directly in the database, I'll have to investigate because it shouldn't happen therefore it's a bug

I never touch the database myself - it's much safer if I leave those rare occurrences to our technical admins who actually know what they are doing. I have installed some EXTs recently, but I don't know if that's relevant. Hopefully that MySQL error was just a one-off. :)

Hey Fred, great looking extension.

Does the user have the ability to permanently dismiss the announcements that are made?

So for example user reaches a high rank, announcement is visible to them saying 'Congrats on reaching X rank!' and then they can dismiss it?

Thanks

Yes, you can configure each notice to be dismissible (or not).

You can also force it to be displayed again after some days (if needed)
