Extension Name: Forum Icons Extended
Author: Siava

Extension Description: Replaces forum folder images to forum icons if they exists
Extension Version: 1.0.4

Requirements:
  • phpbb 3.1.x, 3.2.x
Features:
  1. Hides standard forum folder images, if you use custom (icons or images) in ACP forum manage.
  2. Forum icon colored (original), if forum have unread messages. Also for guests if disabled track read messages for guests.
  3. Forum icon gray for registered users if no unread messages in forum.

Colored pictures are converted to gray with CSS. It works correctly in all modern browsers (Mozilla 35+, Chrome 19+, Opera 15+). IE7-11 with crutches as always :)

It just used the forum icon that is configured in the ACP?

p.s. it also works with edge

I don't understand. Do you mean hide standard folder images from topics in viewforum? If yes, this extension does not affects topics images.

Hi

Yes , can you modify yr extension to hide the default image from view topic. (Those ugly images with circles and lines in them)

Just replace
<dl class="icon {topicrow.TOPIC_IMG_STYLE}">
to
<dl>
in viewforum_body.html of your style.

The default forum images changed to a red color when a forum has unread topic.

I think he was asking for a way to still have that feature. Maybe there is another way to mark your images on new topics in a forum.
