What do you mean by "Edge is non standard" ?
In typical Microsoft fashion they totally ignore all (well most) of the "standards" and do their own thing. It is getting better but in the early versions many standard features either were not present or did not work correctly.

Not sure what version I have but I will take a look later.

I use Microsoft Edge 41.16299.15.0.
Not sure where you got that version from but I have just done the latest update (taken several hours) and I have version 40.15063.674.0 - which does not seem to be a problem with this extension.

This extension has been superseded by the Privacy Policy extension which incorporated GDPR acceptance
