Moved install Directory, Still get Error 'please delete etc.'

Post by phpsoft » Sun Apr 15, 2018 9:51 pm

Moved the install directory to another filesystem but still get the error 'Please delete, move, or rename the install...'

After deleting the install directory, noticed that installation asked me a couple more questions (checkboxes) to send data to phpBB or something. That is the only thing that may have been an issue as I have installed phpbb many times.

Tried clearing the cache, restarting httpd.service, purge all sessions, restart entire machine with no luck...

Tried searching for 'install' in the phpBB tree, nothing.

Tried searching for text 'rename the install' in the phpBB tree, nothing

Thus it must be somewhere in the database or some setting in a file somewhere?

Go to the "other filesystem" and rename or delete it. Also, post a screenshot from your FTP client of your folder tree in your board root.

cd /blah/www/http/somedomain/phpbb3/
mv install /different/place/
so it is no longer in the phpbb3 dir.
also tried
cd /different/place/
mv install install.bak

didn't work
used command line not ftp and the /roots are on different disk partitions.

so where - database or some flag in some file - is it getting the idea that the install directory is still there?
and was it because it wasn't quite 'done' with the last two questions (checkboxes) that it blew up? have never had this issue before?

Thanks

You don’t have to do anything using FTP just view and make a screen cap of the filesystem, as per:

Well today the board started working. There must have been 'something' still in existence that was detected. Owell.
